The automotive industry applies two distinct cleanliness requirements: ISO 14644 classifies cleanroom air by particle concentration — critical for the production environment of optical systems, electronics and battery cells. VDA 19 / ISO 16232 assesses component cleanliness — the particle size and count on the component itself — and is a prerequisite for delivery release of hydraulic, engine and fuel system components.
Many Tier-1 and Tier-2 suppliers need both: an ISO 14644-certified cleanroom as a production environment and VDA 19 verification of component cleanliness at the process output. IML / IMD & High-Gloss Visible Parts
In-mould labelling and in-mould decoration at the injection moulding machine place high demands on particle-freedom directly at the tool. Dust particles on the film or in the mould cause visible inclusions in the finished part. PETEK develops mini-environments and enclosures to ISO 7 to ISO 8 that protect the IML/IMD process — without restricting machine accessibility.
Battery Cells & EV Drivetrain
The manufacture of lithium-ion cells and battery modules for electric vehicles requires low-particle environments with strict humidity control. Particle inclusions and moisture damage the cell chemistry and shorten battery lifetime. PETEK plans ISO 5 and ISO 6 cleanrooms with precise climate control for electrode and cell assembly.
